Picture perfect
"Pictures tell a thousand words"
Having great pictures on your website can really add to the user experience. Without teaching you photography there is one golden rule to follow. Make sure it is in focus! Check out the project photos on www.mccroneroofing.co.uk - these guys have nailed it.
An additional consideration is look at what is in the background or around the subject once you have taken the picture - make sure no-one is picking their nose or some rubbish is in shot.
What size should I take? As big as you can, your web developer will then be able to apply some magic to make it look good on your website.
Do I need Photoshop? No, but that or similar programs may enhance the photo by bringing out the colours.
Optimize your web version. There are many programs that can help, Photoshop will do this for you and we recommend using the Tiny PNG website too. If you use WordPress then download the TinyPNG plugin to auto optimize.
Why optimize? It will speed up your web page. Speeding up your page has a positive effect in Google's search rankings. A faster loading page enhances the user's experience. A better user experience will attract more customers hopefully!
